Some people think that casino comps are just a load of crap. They don’t come near to the amount that you usually dump on the casino floor, and free rooms are just given to keep you around to lose your money. But it’s all how you look at things.

If you look at comps the way an advantage player does it’s one way to get back some of what you’re going to lose to the casino. If you subtract what you get for free from the cost of staying at the casino, the house edge against you will be lowered. Your costs are going to be there anyway, anything you get comped is essentially money back in your pocket.

They’re also a way to enjoy different things that you might not usually pay for, and they’re a break from the casino floor. Let’s face it; they’re better than getting nothing.
