No More Free Drinks at the Casino?

Dear lord the apocalypse is upon us. How can you have no free drinks in a casino?

But that's what happening in casinos outside of Vegas and Atlantic City.

The reasons range from the casinos in certain areas aren't allowed to serve alcohol on a gaming floor to casinos just not generating the same revenue as in Nevada and New Jersey.

"It just makes it more fun. It's one less thing you have to pay for," said Lynette Gross, who has visited casinos in Indiana and Las Vegas. "I don't think it makes you drink more. It's just a nice perk."

New Ohio laws put the state's up-and-coming casinos free drink free. Other Midwestern states like Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Kansas don't allow their casinos to offer free alcohol either, says the American Gaming Association.

There are currently nine non-Indian casinos -- Nevada, New Jersey, Colorado, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Pennsylvania and South Dakota -- that allow casino to serve free liquor. Just three of those actually take advantage of this.

Does that mean no more free drinks at casinos across America? Oh well, at least you can't still play in front of your PC by using the Bodog Casino!
