Trump Plaza Closes Friday Because of No AC

Another Trump building is shutting down, but this time you can rule out Chapter 11.

It's been hot in Atlantic City, New Jersey this summer, Arizona hot. Unfortunately, the Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino didn't pay their energy bill or something, because there's been no AC going through the casino.

Tom Hickey, a spokesman for Trump Entertainment Resorts, decided the Plaza was too hot to handle and decided to close up shop until a new system was installed.

"We're closing the whole place down for now," he said.

In their defense, it's not their fault.

A leaky pipe at a nearby power plant that provides cold water to the casinos to power their cooling systems is to blame. It could take until Monday until the thing is fixed.

This a bad time to lose a full weekend of business. Atlantic City has been losing considerable funds as the economy continues to nosedive overall and other East Coast venues open their own casino.
