Adam Lambert Sings 'Mad World' Flawlessly

Adam Lambert nailed it again. (Fox Images)"]

This week on American Idol, contestants sang songs from the year they were born and Adam Lambert absolutely nailed the Tears for Fears song "Mad World," one of the most depressing and haunting songs ever written. With flawless precision, Lambert sat beneath a blue spotlight, blowing every Gokey, Anoop and Scott MacIntyre right out of the water.

Week after week, Lambert has nailed the vital combination of picking the right song while also making it his own. Last week, Lambert gave a stirring rendition of Tracks of My Tears, while the week before, he totally killed a funky, Middle Eastern version of Ring of Fire.

Unfortunately, the live show ran more than 5 minutes over so judges weren't able to give a full critique, however, Simon Cowell gave Lambert a standing ovation - which says it all. What do you think? Should they just crown him the American Idol now and put everyone else out of their karaoke misery? YouTube doesn't have the video up yet, but we found Adam Lambert's Mad World performance here. Check it out.
