Atlanta, Georgia—Historic midtown Atlanta was the scene-to-be-seen last night, as Bodog Battle's Atlanta regional finals concluded. Ohio's After the Accident drove a long way to impress the judges and for their chance to win big, which they did.
The five-piece alternative rock group raised money by selling cabbage rolls just days before the event so they could compete in Atlanta. And those sales sure paid off. Their energetic set and enthusiasm was only offset by their fans' loud cheers after they won. The fans even packed the tour bus with them and rode over 8 hours in blizzard conditions to show their support.
Out of the ten bands that took the stage, Flint, Michigan's Nuroksol offered a unique sound of fusing hip-hop and rock with heavy rap, while the modern country group the Ryan Daniels Band was a more seasoned modern country band that impressed the crowd. Overall, the night was filled with many talented musicians trying their chance to win a million dollars, but only one could advance. After their win, After the Accident told The Beat their biggest focus will be to prepare for the next and final round of Bodog Battle and their chance to win a million dollar recording contract with Bodog Music.
