American Idol's David Hernandez Worked as Male Stripper

Every season of American Idol has a contestant with a shady past, and for Season 7, it's David Hernandez.

According to US magazine, the finalist from Glendale, Ariz., once worked as a male stripper at Dick's Cabaret. He reportedly gave lap dances in the nude to "mostly male" clientele. "He had the look and the type that people like," Dick's Cabaret manager Gordy Bryan told the Associated Press. "So he had made pretty good money here."

According to Bryan, Hernandez worked at Dick's for three years until last September. "He never renewed his licensing with the state, so he hasn't been on my roster since then."

Past Idol contestants with shady pasts include Frenchie Davis, who disqualified for appearing topless on an adult website, and Antonella Barba, whose provocative college photos made its rounds on the Internet last year.
