So apparently the last time we blogged about Amy Winehouse entering rehab, our favorite pint-sized coke abuser hadn't yet stepped foot into a facility. However, today People Magazine is reporting that the Wino has at long last entered rehab!
"Amy decided to enter the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors," said a statement from Universal Music. "She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction and prepare for her planned appearance at the Grammy Awards. She is nominated in an incredible six categories."
Since photographs of Winehouse allegedly smoking crack cocaine were published by British newspaper The Sun, the singer has been laying low - dying her hair back to black and hanging out with her dad Mitch Winehouse. She appeared in court on Jan. 18 to support her jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil, who is reportedly threatening to file for divorce.
"Amy entered the facility by mutual agreement and continues to receive the full support of all concerned," continues the statement made by Universal. "Amy is the most talented and important musical artist of her generation and has made huge strides on her road to recovery. Universal Music Group wants nothing more than to see her take the time she needs to come back to full health and fulfill her incredible potential with the label."
Translation? Amy, get help, or you'll get the axe.
