With the Jerry Springer Show being turned into an opera and now Anna Nicole Smith's foggy life the next opera sensation, somewhere Puccini, Verdi and Mozart are rolling in their graves.

Dutch soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek has been cast as the ill-fated Smith. The opera titled Anna Nicole, which is the brainchild of the co-creator of Jerry Springer: The Opera is composed by Mark-Anthony Turnage, conducted by Antonio Pappano and directed by Richard Jones. Anna Nicole will open next season at London's Royal Opera House next season, with the show slated to debut on Feb. 17.

"It's an incredible story," Thomas told Britain's The Independent newspaper. "It's very operatic and sad."

"She was quite a smart lady with the tragic flaw that she could not seem to get through life without a vat of prescription painkillers," Thomas continued. "For me, it ends when she does. It's an American story. I love American culture. Especially for opera, the stories seem to work on a grander, more epic scale."

Smith died at the age of 39 of an accidental drug overdose. Her death was on the heels of her beloved son Daniel's death, and the birth of her daughter, Dannielynn, who now lives with biological father Larry Birkhead. For all your celebrity betting, visit the Bodog Sportsbook.
