Another sequel to The Silence of the Lambs sequel has been given the green light.

Almost 20 years after the film won the big five, Anthony Hopkins has signed on for the role that made him famous, Hannibal Lecter. Jodi Foster will not reprise her role as Clarice Sterling opting instead to direct The Flock star, Claire Danes, in a new film.

Julianne Moore had replaced Foster in Hannibal and now Variety has announced that Cate Blanchett is in talks for the role in the Ridley Scott-directed film.

"Hopkins and Scott are both very committed," a Universal spokesperson said. "We like what we've got, and the revised script is really, really good."
