Back to Prison for Richard Hatch

Richard Hatch has gone from being on house arrest in Rhode Island to being thrown back in the clink. From winning Survivor to serving nearly four years in prison for failing to pay taxes on those winnings, Hatch spoke his mind to Matt Lauer on the Today Show and was rearrested shortly after.

Fitted with a monitoring bracelet on his ankle, on Tuesday Hatch told Lauer that he was discriminated against because he is gay. Just hours later, he was taken into police custody because he did not have the permission to talk to the media. However, Hatch had told Lauer in the interview that he was allowed to talk to the media.

"I got permission for this interivew," Hatch told Lauer when he questioned him about it.

This claim has been backed up by Hatch's attorney, Cynthia Ribas, who said that she had secured clearance from the BOP for the interview. She said that officials have been silent on the reason for Hatch's rearrest.

Hatch's sister talked to the Today Show and said that police had confirmed that Hatch was indeed arrested for the interview he gave them.

"I heard tell Rich that he did an interview, and that's why he was going back to prison," Kristin Hatch said on Wednesday's Today.
