Balloon Boy Charges to be Filed

The Balloon Boy incident is indeed a hoax. (AP Images)"]
It's official, people. Police have formally announced that Falcon Heene's phony balloon flight and stint in the family attic is all one giant hoax performed by the Henne family in a desperate bid for a reality show. The hoax was apparently planned by Falcon Heene's parents for two weeks. Felony charges will be filed against Richard and Mayumi Heene, which include making a false report to authorities and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The FAA and federal authorities are looking in to possible federal charges in the case, and Child Protective Services are also conducting an investigation, as the parents had coaxed their three boys to go along with the illegal hoax. Also included in the punishment will be renumeration for the money the county spent chasing that damn balloon.
It's unclear whether the Heene parents will get jail time, as although the maximum sentence is six years in prison and a $500,000 fine, the Colorado prisons are pretty packed. Arrests have not yet been made.
