Polls show Hillary Clinton ahead in the race to win the Pennsylvania primaries and political bettors agree.

Clinton holds political moneyline odds of -450 (meaning a winning wager of $450 on her would net $100) to win the April 22 primary while Barack Obama is a +275 underdog. Pennsylvania is the largest state up for grabs and Clinton has not been shy about pointing out her success in such contests.

Her recent primary wins in Ohio and Texas kept her hopes for the Democratic nomination alive although Obama had reeled off 12 victories in a row. Clinton, once a strong favorite to be the next president, is campaigning hard in Pennsylvania, thinking that it could determine who gets the opportunity to face Republican nominee John McCain for the White House.

"I don't see how a Democrat wins the White House without winning Pennsylvania," Clinton told supporters on Friday. "Pennsylvania is a microcosm of the entire country. It's our sixth biggest state."

Obama has been the betting favorite to be the next leader of the country since his stunning victories on Super Tuesday in February. But his presidential odds have dropped dramatically in recent weeks and now stand at only 1/1. Clinton is at 7/2 and McCain is at 7/4. Obama is the 4/15 choice to win the Democratic nomination while Clinton is at 11/4.

Election day is Nov. 4.
