Big Music Tours and Shows in 2008

There might only be five more months of the year, but for the music biz, that means five more months of money making. There are a handful of big tours heading to North America, and a ticket to any of them is bound to break the bank. Like Madonna? It'll cost you $350. Want to relive your youth and see your favorite '90s boy band? Be prepared to shell out at least $100. Miss Celine Dion in Vegas? Get ready for your nose to bleed if you're only willing to pay $200.

We run down some of the biggest tours to end the year and give you the goods on which ones are worth your pretty penny and which ones are worth missing.

Madonna

If you love Madonna, you better have deep pockets. The singer, actress and famous Kabbalahist is selling tickets to her upcoming Sticky & Sweet tour for $55-$350. Nothing sweet about that. And with the majority of her shows already sold out, you'll probably be paying scalpers even more.

But it doesn't look like Madonna will be retiring any time soon. After parting with her label, Warner Bros. Records, this year following the release of her 11th studio album, Hard Candy, Madonna has signed onto a 10-year contract with Live Nation. To kick off her decade-binding contract that will last until she's 59 years old, Madonna will promote her new album on the Sticky & Sweet tour.

The tour starts in late August in Europe before coming over to North America for most of fall and ending in Mexico on Nov. 30. Those who are lucky (or rich) enough to score a ticket will most likely witness an elaborate light show, some lip syncing and lots of leotards.

Verdict: Miss. With a 10-year contract with Live Nation and no signs of slowing down, Madonna will probably be doing at least two more world tours. So if you weren't particularly fond of her duets with Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams on her newest album, skip out on this tour.
