NBC’s feel-good reality TV show culminated its fourth season on Tuesday night with a predictable result.

Bill Germanakos won the $250,000 grand prize for shedding 164 pounds since starting his on-camera training. He began “The Biggest Loser” at 334 pounds and came out of it at 170. Bill steadily moved into the position of betting favorite and entered the finale with Biggest Loser odds of 5/8.

It was an all-in-the-family celebration as Bill’s twin brother, Jim Germanakos, won the other prize awarded on the finale, a $100,000 check for continuing on the weight-loss program even after being eliminated. Of the eliminated contestants, Jim had the greatest total weight loss since joining the program.

The 41-year-old Germanakos brothers, who hail from Long Island, N.Y., were the first twins to appear in the series. Bill had dominated the season, winning several of the weekly challenges.

The next season of The Biggest Loser begins on Jan. 1 with a couples competition. The show also announced a special promotion for 2008 called that challenges Americans to lose a combined one million pounds.
