Bodog Battle: Interview with The Slants

The Bodog Battle competition is heating up and heading into regional finals, which will culminate with a new season of the Bodog TV series that documents four American bands, three European bands, one Canadian group and two wild-card entries competing against each other for a shot at a $1 million global recording contract with the Bodog Music label.
Over in the U.S., Portland, Ore., band The Slants, who refer to their sound as "chinatown dance rock," have earned first place in the three Bodog Battle rounds they've competed in. However, their successful reign thus far hasn’t come without some hiccups along the way.
"For one , half of our band was stranded en route to Seattle," The Slants bassist Simon Young told Bodog Nation in an exclusive interview. "So we had to push our optimum timeslot to dead last. During the rush to get up there, our drummer also forgot his drumsticks. Luckily, we were able to get everything - and everyone - together to put on a killer show that definitely left a vibe in the air well after we left the stage."
