It is becoming clear that despite claims by her husband Simon Monjack and her mother Sharon, the late actress Brittany Murphy, may have had an addiction to prescription drugs. TMZ is reporting that Murphy had been cut off from one pharmacy just months before her death because the owner feared she would overdose. At Eddie's Pharmacy in Los Angeles, where Murphy was cut off, she used  multiple aliases including  Lola Manilow Murphy, Kathelyn Moore, Trevor Williams, and Faith Gosselin  to obtain multiple prescriptions.

However, TMZ reports that Murphy was able to find a willing doctor. Dr. Richard Kroop,  who is now under investigation, prescribed Murphy 200 hydrocodone and 100 clonazepam in one month. During another month,  Kroop prescribed the actress 300 Vicoprofen and 100 Klonopin.

TMZ reports Murphy, "received no fewer than 200 pills every month from January 2008 through August 2009 ... and sometimes as many as 400."
