Catherine Zeta-Jones to Play Cleopatra

It’s about as tall an order for casting director as you can get; finding the right person to play one of histories most intriguing woman, Cleopatra. So it must have been quite an honor for Catherine Zeta-Jones to have been selected to pay the Egyptian queen.

Zeta-Jones is apparently currently in talks to star in a new 3-D rock musical titled, you guessed it, “Cleopatra”.

The movie will purportedly focus on Cleopatra’s romance with Marc Antony.

Amazingly, this will be Catherine Zeta-Jones’ first role since playing Velma Kelly in “Chicago.” A role which also landed her an Oscar.

“Cleopatra” is being directed by Steven Sodergergh who is allegedly looking to cast Hugh Jackman in the role of Marc Anthony. The budget is currently set at $30 million.
