C.B. Sully Sullenberger Pilot of Miracle on the Hudson

Chelsey B. "Sully" Sullenberger III is the pilot who saved the lives of 155 passengers of US Airways Flight 1549, has been named in the media as the "Hero of the Hudson."
As you've probably already heard, both engines of the Sullenberger-piloted commercial plane failed after hitting some birds and he was forced to make a water landing in the Hudson River. So who is this guy? Sullenberger is from Danville, California, with 40-plus years in the aviation industry and is a certified glider pilot, perhaps a skill that helped him fly an engineless jet.
Sullenberger flew F-4s for the U.S. Air Force from 1973 to 1980. He was also a Flight Leader and Training Officer with experience in Europe, Pacific and at Nellis AFB and served as Blue Force Mission Commander in Red Flag Exercises. Sullenberger, who is known to friends as "Sully" also spent years as an accident investigator.
