Celebrities Gather at Los Angeles Mission to Serve Thanksgiving Meals

It’s an annual tradition for celebrities and anyone wanting to help out during the Thanksgiving holiday to donate a few hours of their day at the Los Angeles Mission and this year they seem to have had a great turnout yesterday with celebrities such as Zoe Zaldana and Cindy Crawford coming together to serve thousands of free meals to the homeless.
This was the seventh year of the annual event hosted by Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas and his wife Anne who according to AOL TV, have supported the LA Mission for years and were even awarded for their charitable efforts by receiving the Anne Douglas Center for Women Award earlier this year.
Volunteers gathered to take part in cooking all the traditional Thanksgiving goodies including 3,000 pounds of turkey, 7,000 pounds of mashed potatoes, 800 pounds of green beans, 80 gallons of gravy and 600 pies, claims the Associated Press.
The LA Mission works to provide those in need with a warm meal and shelter which is generally based on kind donations from the public and this year, the goal was to serve 120,000 meals according to a Kim Kardashian tweet. Other stars who donated their time before going off to have a Thanksgiving celebration of their own included Lindsay Lohan and Blair Underwood.
Wishing you all a very happy Thanksgiving!
