Crystal Bowersox, the busking mother of one, was not able to perform on  Tuesday night's American Idol episode,  forcing the men to take the stage rather than the women.

"Due to medical issues which would prevent Crystal Bowersox from performing tonight, the 10 male semifinalists will perform this evening, and the 10 female semifinalists will perform tomorrow night," read a statement from the show on Tuesday.

When last night's show aired, although Ryan Seacrest did not elaborate on what was ailing the folksy 24-year-old Elliston, Ohio native, today reports are surfacing today  that Bowersox suffered from diabetes complications. With no update on her health condition as of now, producers are saying that if she is unable to perform tonight, she'll be eliminated from the show.

Produer Ken Warwick told Seacrest on his radio show this morning,  "If you're in the Olympics and you're going for the semifinal, for the final, if you don't turn up, you don't get straight through to the final."

Doctors are still deciding whether Crystal will be able to perform Wednesday night. If she is unable to sing, only one girl will be eliminated Thursday night  rather than  two, Warwick said.

Health conditions have been known to plague Idol contestants due to the heightened amount of stress they're suddenly under, as well as the prolonged hours of rehearsal. A couple seasons ago, David Cook collapsed after suffering heart palpitations.

Last night's men took the stage and overall, they improved tremendously over the week before, with Michael Lynche and Lee Dewyze being the stand-out performers. Meanwhile,  Todrick Hall and Tim Urban were totally lambasted by judges.
