When David Cook stole the show with a moody new arrangement of "Billie Jean," the audience went nuts and Cook stood back and took the compliments the judges handed him.
In an interview on Billboard.com, ex Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell said that Cook "sang it great," but added, "it was literally a note-for-note take on what I came up with."
This isn't the first time Cook has been accused of taking credit for song arrangements. Just weeks before, Cook wowed the judges with his rockin' arrangement of Lennon-McCartney song "Eleanor Rigby." However, soon after a band named DOXOLOGY came forward claiming Cook ripped the arrangement that is featured on their MySpace page.
On the bright side for Cornell, Cook's rendition drew attention to Cornell's arrangement and he has enjoyed a sudden spike in iTune downloads.
