Elton John Not Replacing Simon Cowell on American Idol

He definitely knows a thing or two about music. He's a bit of a crank and he's a Brit. Yes,  Elton John fits all the criteria needed to fill the shoes of Simon Cowell on American Idol.

After TMZ reported that Elton has been all the buzz around the American Idol set as a replacement for Cowell, the blogosphere has been blowing up with speculation. However,  now it's appearing that Elton will not be the callous judge.

A rep for Sir Elton told Gossip Cop exclusively, “He is not going to be a judge."

Simon, who makes $36 million a year  on Idol  said he was "offered a lot of money" to stay on, but that  he "wanted to do something different."
