Former NBA Star Jayson Williams Tasered by Cops

Former NBA basketball star, Jayson Williams, who played for the New Jersey Nets, was tasered by cops over the weekend and now sits in a psychiatric hospital.

The New York Post is reporting that Williams trashed his hotel room in New York and was acting suicidal and violent. He barricaded himself in the hotel room, which led to cops tasering Williams and taking him to St. Vincent’s Hospital for evaluation.

Williams has had a difficult time of things. Williams faces a reckless manslaughter charge stemming from when he covered up the fatal shooting of his limousine driver Costas "Gus" Christofi. Reportedly, Williams was playing with a shotgun while giving a tour of his mansion when the weapon fired, killing Christofi. Williams' wife, Tanya Young Williams, filed for divorce in February, claiming that Jayson had threatened to kill her, faked a suicide and falsely claimed to have stomach cancer.

Cops say they found empty prescription pill bottles in his room.
