Girls Disappoint on 'American Idol'

Tonight was Mariah Carey night on American Idol and if you don't like her, you had a rough night because the kids would be taking on her screechy songs. Gah!
David Archuleta (10/11) sang "When You Believe" and of course Mariah suggested he try out his falsetto. Shocker.
Randy Jackson whooped, "That was the bomb, baby!"
Bodog Beat's least favorite to win, Brooke White (13/1), sang "Hero" and it didn't go well. Simon Cowell said it was like getting a hamburger without the meat.
David Cook (13/5) earned top nods of the night with "Always Be My Baby." Simon said it was like "coming out of karaoke hell into a breath of fresh air. It was original; it was daring; it stood out by a mile."
Cook wiped away tears as a camera panned to his brother in the audience who reportedly is suffering from brain cancer.
Sigh, Kristy Lee Cook (25/1) is still in this thing. She sang "Forever," which Mariah lied "could be a hit for you."
Jason Castro (11/1) closed the show with "I Don't Want to Cry." It was a soft and cool rendition, though Randy said he felt like he was "at a weird beach luau." However, Paula Abdul countered that she would like to be at that luau listening all night long. Simon agreed with Paula and added: "The guys have completely won the night."
