Remember when Milli Vanilli were caught lip-synching? The recording of the song "Girl You Know It's True" began to skip. They continued to pretend to sing and dance onstage for a few more moments. Then they both ran offstage. Then one of them killed themselves. It was that serious. Now however, our tolerance for phony performers seems to have increased and now it is pretty much acceptable practice.

Heidi Montag performed her single “Body Language” last night at the Miss Universe pageant and not only did she lip-synch, but she did it very badly. Montag channeled Britney Spears hard. Everything from the skin-toned skimpy outfit, to the lip-syching and the crappy dance moves - poor Montag looked like a high school girl doing a bad Britney impersonation.
