Jamie Lynn Spears popped at 9:30 this morning making herself a 17-year-old mother and her sister Britney, an auntie.

She gave birth to a 6-pound, 10-ounce baby girl whom she named Maddie Briann.

Lynne Spears, who is offering the world a forthcoming book on how to be a good parent, told OK! magazine about the day she learned of her youngest daughter's pregnancy.

“I didn’t believe it because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious. She’s never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby,” she said.

Spears and Casey Aldridge, the father of the baby, have been engaged since March but have delayed their wedding until after the birth of their child.
