Twenty-six-year-old "Fantastic Four" actress Jessica Alba has taken on the new role of expectant mother. The baby is due in late spring of 2008 and was reportedly co-created by her long-time boyfriend Cash Warren.

Alba’s representative (why stars have to pay people to announce these things to the media confounds us) Brad Cafarelli said, “I can confirm that Jessica and Cash are expecting a baby in late spring, early summer.”

How Jessica managed to hide from the paparazzi long enough to avoid being exposed through one of those ridiculous “Is this Bump a Baby?” photo montages is anybody’s guess.

According to BANG Media International a source close to Alba said: “Jessica was really jealous that all her friends were settling down and getting pregnant, so she is thrilled she has joined the club now. She feels like she is ready to be a mom, and knows she and Cash will make great parents.”

The couple had reportedly split earlier this year but it was a short hiatus. They are back together and more cuddly than ever as they proved at last Saturday’s Laker’s game where they enjoyed some heavy court-side snuggling.
