Jessica Simpson Back on TV with CMT Special

According to US magazine, Jessica Simpson is "in talks" with CMT to tape a television special chronicling her life as she records her country album. However, unlike MTV's Newlyweds, which rocketed Simpson to fame by exposing her stupidity (i.e. "Is this chicken or fish?") but also broke up her marriage to singer Nick Lachey, this special promises not to be a reality show.
"We have had exploratory talks with Jessica's camp, but nothing has been confirmed or signed," a rep for CMT told US. The show will supposedly air at the time of Simpson's album release.
And of course, when there's money flowing into Simpson's pocket, Papa Joe can't be far behind. "With Newlyweds, she let everyone into her world," Joe told Entertainment Weekly. "Then she had to shut the world out. Now she can open it up again so people can see, here's a girl struggling with self-esteem and finding her way. Country music is about storytelling, after all."
We wonder if Simpson's current boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo, will be appearing in this television special?
