Joanna Pacitti Disqualified from American Idol

Even though we saw her make the top 36 last night, this morning American Idol producers booted contestant Joanna Pacitti due to her previous record contract as well as her relationship to people on the show.

EW reports that Pacitti lived for a time in the same apartment building as Michelle Young and Roger Widynowski, who work for the production company behind American Idol. She even referred to the former exec as her "best friend." She also had a former deal with A&M Records.

"It has been determined that Joanna Pacitti is ineligible to continue in the competition," stated a Fox press release sent early Thursday morning.

Pacitti was replaced by 26-year-old Felicia Barton, who was shown on last night's final Hollywood Week telecast being eliminated by the judges.
