Finally Jon Gosselin got a chance for a primetime interview - no more paparazzi interviews, no more speculation, no more he said she said - just Jon. It's hard to say whether or not Jon Gosselin is a good guy. He seems to legitimately love his kids, but at the same time, he is living out the quintessential male midlife crisis in front of America, jet-setting around the world, hanging out in bars, dating younger girls, while leaving his eight children in the dust. Not shown in the above video, is Jon's take on his new 22-year-old girlfriend, Hailey Glassman, who Jon calls "the polar opposite" of Kate.

Jon said, "I get encouragement from her, I get respect from her. Two things that a man needs. This is someone, I mean, like soulmate — like people joke about that. But I'm not joking about that."

Knowing that he's now America's least favorite reality star, Jon is hoping this primetime interview will soften his reputation.

"It's just like the change from America's favorite dad to dirtbag. Tomorrow I could be maybe - America's favorite dad again. It could be after this interview."

Jon told Primetime's Chris Cuomo that the only therapy Kate would agree to was the celebrity kind was therapy that included ratings - with Dr. Phil, which Jon declined.

Jon said, “I said, ”˜Huh?’ It was all about protecting the brand.”

He also claimed that Kate separated him from his family, telling Cuomo, "She separated me from my family, my mom and my brothers. They say to me, 'It's so good to have the real Jon back, it's so good to have the warm, loving kind caring person we knew you were before you got married.' She used to hold the kids over my head and say, 'Don't spend time with your mom, spend time with your kids.' Why can't I spend time with my mom and my kids together?"

Of Jon's interview, Kate responded with: “For the sake of my children I maintain that I’m not going to go into details of aspects I believe should remain private.”
