Judge Doubles O.J. Simpson's Bail

O.J. Simpson has been sitting in the Clark County jail since Friday after having his bail revoked. The revocation came after Simpson reportedly violated the terms after trying to contact a co-defendant. His bail bondsman, Miguel Pereira, who was angry he hadn't been paid for handling Simpson's bail, had turned over an incriminating phone message to police.
"He left a message instructing me to do something violating a court order," Pereira told The Associated Press. "I don't want to get involved in such a dilemma or a criminal act."
At his bail revocation hearing today, things didn't get much better for the former NFL star.
"I don't know, Mr. Simpson, what the heck you were thinking -- or maybe that's the problem -- you weren't," Judge Jackie Glass told Simpson. "I don't know if it's just arrogance. I don't know if it's ignorance. But you've been locked up at the Clark County Detention Center since Friday because of arrogance or ignorance -- or both."
Glass then doubled Simpson's bail to $250,000 and told him that he must remain in jail until 15% was paid in cash.
