Madonna Forces Malawi Villagers Out for School

Madonna has taken her humanitary cue cards from Oprah by opening a school for girls in Blantyre, Malawi. The school, which will cost a staggering $15 million, however,  also carries another hefty  price. The Associated Press reports that 200 residents of the village have been asked to relocate to accommodate the new facility per government request.

Government officials told villagers that the land in Blantyre now belongs to Madonna and that they need to leave.  Madonna reportedly paid the villagers more than $115,000 to compensate for their homes, but residents have still refused to move.
