The recession has hit a lot of us very hard. Everything from lay offs to foreclosures to losing our asses in the stock market - things out there have been bleak. However, something good did come from all our suffering, folks: Mary-Kate Olsen scored a great deal on a new hat!

Page Six reports: A Page Six spy, who recently shared an elevator at Barneys with the diminutive actress, reports Olsen was excited about all the discounted merchandise for the taking. 'It's really sad - the recession is everywhere. But at least they are having good sales,' said Olsen, who pointed to her hat. 'That's where I got this! The recession!'"

In 2007, Forbes ranked Mary-Kate and sister Ashley, collectively, as the eleventh-richest women in entertainment, with an estimated net worth of $100 million. But hey, everyone loves a recession hat.
