Meghan and Cheyne Amazing Race 2009 Winners

After counting out $1 million in chips at the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas, Meghan Rickey and her boyfriend, Cheyne Whitney, ran to the finish line at Wayne Newton's house. As fellow competitors clapped, Meghan and Cheyne were told by Phil that they were the first team to cross the finish line and were the winners of the 15th edition of The Amazing Race.

In the last leg of the race, the three remaining teams were in Las Vegas where they had to collect clues from an Elvis impersonator, rappel down the side of the Mandalay Bay resort and retrieve a bouquet   of flowers by bungee jumping on a Cirque du Soleil stage. The final task was to count out one million dollars worth of casino chips, then find Wayne Newton in a hotel room - who told them the finish line was awaiting them at his house.

Rickey and Whitney were in third place when they began counting the casino chips, as a cab driver had sent them to the Venetian rather than the Monte Carlo. However, they managed to make up the time easily and quickly work their way back to first place. The 23-year-old students, who have known each other since grade school and have dated for several years, beat out second place finishers, the McMillen brothers, as well as third place finishers former Miss America 2004  Ericka Dunlap and her husband, Brian Kleinschmidt.

"This has been such a learning experience," Rickey said. "Every step of the way it has been so neat."
