In American Idol's Atlanta auditions, Asia'h Epperson earned saddest story of the night, as she relayed the news that her father had passed in a car accident, just days before her audition. She sang a heartfelt "How Do I Live Without You" in memory of her father.

"I thought you were excellent," Randy Jackson told her.

"I think your dad would be very proud of you," Simon Cowell told her as she wiped away tears.

Beauty queen (of sorts) Brooke Helvie wanted to prove to Simon that pageant queens can be talented too.

"I said, 'God just help me through the day, help me be the best I can be...' I'm going to start crying," she wailed.

Although the Hervie, the "Miss South Florida Fair" could really sing, the judges gave her a golden ticket reluctantly... because she was super annoying.

"Possibly the most annoying person I've ever seen in my entire life," Simon said after she screamed her way out of the audition room.

We at The Beat had our hopes up for 16-year-old gothic kid, Nathan Hite. He was a funny dude, but was chastised after his audition by Simon for being a smart ass. Another goth kid was next and she could actually sing. Amanda Overmyer had a killer set of pipes with a blues twist.

If 18-year-old Josiah Leming wins American Idol, he will be the epitome of the American Dream. He sang an original piece, but seemed to pick up a strange British accent when he sang. However, no one can resist a potential rags-to-riches story, so he was given a pass to Hollywood. Want to bet on your favorite show? Get your American Idol odds at the Bodog Sportsbook.
