Nadia Comaneci Tumbles on Celebrity Apprentice

Here’s a thought: Fire the casting director.

Whoever thought putting an over-the-hill, unmotivated Nadia Comaneci onto “Celebrity Apprentice” was going to reel in viewers needs to turn in his or her security pass. Ditto for Omarosa (but the Beat covered that last week).

The former Olympic gymnastic champ wilted through Episode 2 of Donald Trump’s latest project like a union worker. She clashed with TV producer and project manager-for-the-week Nelly Galan and was eventually “fired” by Trump and his want-to-be-just-like-Daddy daughter.

The defeat came on an eventful show that Gene Simmons stole. With an attitude that screams a big fuck you to the world, Simmons took charge as project manager and got the job done. As repugnant as it was to watch him go Alpha male on everyone around him, he picked a path and stuck with it, allowing him time to finesse at the end.

Considering the task was creating a commercial for a company that promotes the adoption of abandoned dogs, editing time was essential. He also had help from teammate-turned-director Stephen Baldwin, who outshone Galan.

Through two episodes of the NBC program, the men’s team (Hydra) has crushed the women’s side (Empresario).
