Octomom Show Disturbing Stuff

So for those of you who didn't check out the two-hour Octomom extravaganza on Wednesday night, let me break it down for you in two words: fucking crazy.

In the Fox special, cameras chronicle Nadya Suleman's trainwreck of a life via footage taken over the past seven months. And for the most part, it ain't pretty. What we see is a selfish, sick woman who should not have custody of fourteen children.

Fox marketed the show as "emotional struggles, physical complications and financial burdens." However, they said nothing of the sick feeling viewers will get watching eight babies squirm on a blanket on a living room floor while six kids scream and attack each other with Nadya sitting amongst them laughing like a lunatic. There is nothing funny or interesting about this show - it's just plain disturbing.

The show moves from creepy scene to creepy scene and there is just nothing nice about it. The bottom line is that these kids don't have a good life. Their upbringing will be hard and they will spend most of it fighting for their mother's attention. It's both tragic and heartbreaking.

We are also treated to the footage of the octuplets being born which highlights the selfishness of Nadya's camera person who stands in the way while doctors continually beg her to leave, warning her that she's contaminating the birth area. Nadya's camera person retorts with, “You are completely immature and we'll talk about it later.”

What? Is everyone in Nadya's world as downright bat shit crazy as she is? Not quite. Nadya's mother Angela is constantly the voice of reason in this horrible scenario.

“What she did was unconscionable and I haven't forgiven her yet. I'm not comfortable in her presence anymore. She's just not the way she used to be,” Angela says.

Although this was just a two-hour Fox special, Suleman has inked a deal with Eyeworks for a reality show. It will be such a sad state of affairs if Suleman is rewarded for her selfish existance, but at the same time, she has to support these fourteen lives somehow.
