Oprah Winfrey made her debut on the presidential campaign trail Saturday at a Des Moines rally for Barack Obama.

The TV personality and the Democratic presidential candidate drew thousands of supporters to a downtown convention center, where they spoke of of hope and change for a new America.

The candidate's wife, Michelle Obama, introduced the speakers. Opray took the stage to loud cheers and spoke for about 20 minutes. "I came here because I deeply believe in America," Winfrey said. "Let's dream America anew again by supporting Barack Obama."

This is the first time that Winfrey has thrown her support behind a presidential candidate, and pundits are curious to see if the “Oprah” factor will influence the vote.
