The Oscar pool isn’t quite up to the level of significance as the annual rage surrounding the March Madness bracket, but betting on the year’s best movies is a minor obsession in the United States.

Every office has its own Roger Ebert wannabe who’s seen every movie nominated and swears he knows who’ll win for Best Costume Design – and why. But Oscar pools are for everyone who likes movies – and who doesn’t like movies?

If you’ve already filled out your sheet or if you are looking for a way to put a little something on who will walk away with the little gold statues on Sunday night, there are loads of wagering options available.

The odds for Best Picture favor “No Country for Old Men”, which is at 4/11 to win. The movie is up for eight awards in total. The Coen Brothers, Joel and Ethan, are 2/9 to win Best Director and Javier Bardem is the 1/12 favorite to take home the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.

But “There Will Be Blood” is also up for eight nominations and is seemingly assured of one – Best Actor for Daniel Day-Lewis (1/14 odds). The race for which film will emerge with the most honors is up for debate, and betting.

You can place your wagers in the Bodog Sportsbook.
