LA County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says that Paris Hilton has been fitted for an ankle bracelet and "reassigned" to house arrest for the next 40 days, after authorities released Paris from jail because of medical reasons. She got out of jail just after 2:00 a.m. on Thursday.
One reporter described Hilton's job as going to parties and events and asked if she would be allowed to leave her home for work, just as Martha Stewart could during her five months under house arrest.
"My understanding is that she's confined to her home with an ankle bracelet, she cannot leave that facility," said Whitmore. "She will fulfill the remainder of her time confined to her home."
Yes, Paris will be condemned to a life of French—chintz and damask, wood paneling and floors, a swimming pool, tennis court... and, well, the horrors of the Hilton Bel Air abode are too extensive to list.
The director of Life & Style Weekly, Jared Shapiro told Fox News, "This is one of the most privileged, entitled people to ever walk the face of the earth, and no matter what she does - whether its a sex tape or whether she's driving drunk or whether she goes to jail - she comes out on top, she makes money off it, she profits from it and she comes out quite alright."
