Record Companies Sue Ellen DeGeneres Show

Ellen DeGeneres is flying high on the news that she will be the new judge on American Idol. However, some record companies have set out to burst her bubble. On the air since 2003, record companies including Atlantic, Sony Music Entertainment, Capitol Records, Arista, Motown, Virgin Records and Warner Bros. Records, apparently just got wind of the "dancing" segment on the Ellen Show, and are all suing because Ellen didn't pay for the songs she, and at one point, Barack Obama grooved to.

The record companies have joined forces for a giant lawsuit which was filed today in U.S. District Court in Nashville. In the lawsuit, record execs claim they have never received a dime for the hundreds of songs America's favorite 51-year-old lesbian has shimmied to over the years.

TMZ reports: "Scott Rowe, spokesman for the show's Telepictures Productions, wrote in an e-mailed statement that the company has been working with the record labels for months to resolve the issue and remains willing to resolve it on 'amicable and reasonable terms.'"
