Rodney King will fight a cop. Yes, you read that correctly. Rodney King will fight a cop. King, who recently emerged as one of the saner patients on Dr. Drew's Celebrity Rehab and who was made famous for being the victim of a police beating that was the catalyst for the L.A. riots, will be hitting the "celebrity boxing" ring against Simon Aouad, a former Pennsylvania cop who was busted a few years back in a drug/illegal weapon raid.

Aouad and King appeared on the Howard Stern Show today, with Auoad telling King, "I'm gonna beat you so bad Rodney, you're gonna wish you were in LA."

King overcame alcoholism on Celebrity Rehab but had stayed out of the spotlight since the infamous 1992 L.A. riots, which resulted in the deaths of 55 people. King has been arrested for spousal assault, as well as an alcohol-related car chase, which ended when King smashed his SUV into a house. In 2007, King was shot via BB gun in the face, arms, back and torso by thieves who were attempting to steal his bike.

"I know some people will see the irony here," King said about boxing a police officer. "But I would have fought anyone who was worthy. I take this very seriously. Never felt better-physically and in the mind."
