Ryan Reynolds or Justin Timberlake as Green Lantern?

Warner Bros. has been agonizing over its decision on who should play the Green Lantern in the upcoming film, but they have finally narrowed it down to three: Ryan Reynolds, Justin Timberlake and Bradley Cooper.

It has been a five-month process that has just seen the holding deal on the actors expire last Monday which means they are now allowed to accept offers to work on other films.

The casting process has apparently been stalled by the director, Martin Campbell, and two producers, Donald Se Line and Greg Berlanti, being unable to agree on a favorite.

Another concern that is freezing the Green Lantern casting process is the ever rising budget. With the budget expected to top out between $150 and $200 million, Warner Bros. is getting concerned that costs are getting our of control before shooting has even begun.

Despite the big names that he is competing against, Bradly Cooper could easily become cast as the Green Lantern. Presumably, his cost would be lower, plus he is just coming off starring in the surprise hit, “The Hangover”.

Reynolds on the other had, isn’t new to acting in big budget superhero flicks. In the recently released “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” Reynolds played Deadpool. A role he will continue in as he gets his own spinoff.
Timberlake obviously brings massive star power to the role and has proven himself as an actor in “Alpha Dog” and “Black Snake Moan.”
