There was no gag on the SAG Awards and that meant the gowns were out in force Sunday night in Hollywood.
Having been given the good-to-go signal from the striking writers guild, the Screen Actors Guild staged what could be the only star-studded awards show of the year. The writers’ strike has already undermined the People’s Choice Awards and is threatening to do the same to the Academy Awards.
The actors have been supportive of the writers, which is why there trophy show was able to go forward.
The celebs came decked out and in droves. The big winners were the cast members of “The Sopranos”, which took three television honors led by James Gandolfini’s nod as best actor.
In motion pictures, Daniel Day-Lewis won best actor for his role in “There Will Be Blood” and Javier Bardem won for best supporting actor for “No Country for Old Men”.
