Susan Boyle Sings 'My Heart Will Go On' to Larry King
Here we go again. More Susan Boyle, people. (YouTube Video)"]
All right, people. Now, we at Bodog Beat are agreeing with you all that Susan Boyle has a good voice. We especially liked her recorded rendition of Cry me a River that leaked online yesterday. However, we think the world might be going a little Susan Boyle bananas. Yes, she has a good voice, but so do a lot of people. And it's not mind-blowing. Her voice doesn't exactly bring you to your knees in reverie. The fact is, if she wasn't so funny looking, she would just be another decent singer getting lost on the sea of decent singers. But because she's so unpleasant to look at, so obscure, so cloaked with that "destined to fail" look, people are blinded by the level of her talent and are ready to hail her as the next superstar. Because - for once, they want to see an ugly person rise to the top.
During her media blitz, Boyle appeared on Larry King and sang Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On." She sang it well, but it didn't blow socks off or anyting. However, Piers Morgan from Britain's Got Talent was on-hand to add his two cents and told Boyle she had the "voice of an angel."
What do you think? Was Boyle all that and a bag of chips? We're thinking no, but everyone else seems to think she's amazing. We have found no one who agrees with us, except for this guy. Oh, and there's also "Sora" who posted a query on Yahoo which reads, "Just because she's ugly (that's right - she's ugly; not plain or however you choose to euphemise it) doesn't immediately put her head and shoulders above someone as equally talented? It's about talent, not an Ugly Contest."
