'Vanity Fair' Sparks Bill Clinton on Gina Gershon Rumors

Bill Clinton is hilarious. Let's just get that out there. When has a man ever had such a wandering eye and at the same time, been so lovable? According to a recent "Vanity Fair" article, Clinton's womanizing, partying ways has even caused a Clinton campaign employee to suggest staging an intervention. Even more shocking is the rumor that apparently, Bill has now bagged a pretty hot ticket, actress Gina Gershon. Not bad for a pale, red-nosed old coot.

Todd Purdum’s portrayal of Clinton in this month's "Vanity Fair," doesn't paint a pretty picture. According to Purdum, who has yet to produce a smoking gun but writes lengthy paragraphs on speculation, Clinton "might be up to his old tricks." The article goes on:

“Over the last few years, aides have winced at repeated tabloid reports about Clinton’s episodic friendship and occasional dinners out with Belinda Stronach, a twice-divorced billionaire auto-parts heiress and member of the Canadian Parliament 20 years his junior, or at more recent high-end Hollywood dinner-party gossip that Clinton has been seen visiting with the actress Gina Gershon in California. There has been talk of a female friend in Chappaqua, a woman in a bar at a meeting of the Aspen Institute, and a public sighting of Clinton, Bing and a ravishing entourage in a New York elevator that, a former Clinton aide told me, led a business leader who saw them to say: I don’t know what the guy was doing, but it was so clear that it was just no good."

However, “The Office of President Clinton" fired back claiming that Purdum's article is nothing more than a gossip-fest.

"A tawdry, anonymous quote-filled attack piece, published in this month’s Vanity Fair magazine regarding former President Bill Clinton repeats many past attacks on him, ignores much prior positive coverage, includes numerous errors, and ultimately breaks no new ground. It is, in short, journalism of personal destruction at its worst," read the statement.
