Who's No. 1 at the Box Office? Horton, That's Who

Jim Carrey and Dr. Seuss are again a winning combination at the box office.
In its opening weekend, “Horton Hears a Who” stamped out the rest of the competition on the silver screen as it raked $45.1 million into its trunk.
The animated film stars Carrey, who was a hit playing the Grinch earlier in his career. Other stars include Steve Carell and Jamie Pressley. The movie’s stellar opening weekend ranks fifth among G-rated films all-time.
“Horton Hears a Who” easily eclipsed “10,000 BC”, which brought in $16.4 million at the box office. The mixed martial arts film “Never Back Down” came in third.
