2008 Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic Winner Is Zenyatta

Filly Friday is officially over, culminating in an exciting Ladies' Classic that saw Zenyatta take the $2 million prize with a 1:46.85 time, overtaking Cocoa Beach who showed, and Music Note who placed third. Zenyatta was favorite to win the Ladies' Classic, as the unbeaten 4-year-old who has won all of her eight starts, faced-off against reigning Ladies' Classic champ, Ginger Punch.

Earlier in the day, Ventura overtook Indian Blessing to win the $1 million Filly Sprint by four lengths. Maram took the win for the third time in three career starts in the $1 million Juvenile Fillies Turf, beating Heart Shaped in a photo finish. In an exciting Maram made a late rally down the stretch to catch the front-running 5-2 favorite Laragh. Heart Shape came up to miss the win by a nose.

The five Breeders' Cup Filly Friday races are over for today, but the festivities continue with nine more which will be held on Saturday, including the $5 million Classic.
