Breeders' Cup Race Order Announced

Championship Friday (Oct. 24) begins with a 10-race program, starting at 2:05 p.m. ET (11:05 a.m. PT) with two Santa Anita allowance races followed by five Breeders’ Cup races (ESPN2, 3:30-6:30 p.m. ET), the first major racing card with only female horses: Sentient Flight Group Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint; Grey Goose Juvenile Fillies Turf; Bessemer Trust Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I), Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf (gr. IT), and the Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic (gr. I). The day’s program closes with the Las Palmas Handicap (gr. II) and two Santa Anita allowance races.

Championship Saturday (ABC 1-3:30 p.m.; ESPN 3:30-7p.m. ET) starts off with nine open Breeders’ Cup races on an 11-race card, beginning with the Breeders’ Cup Marathon at 1:10 p.m. ET (10:10 a.m. PT), then followed by the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, TVG Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, Breeders’ Cup Mile (gr. IT), Bessemer Trust Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (gr. I), Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, Sentient Flight Group Breeders’ Cup Sprint (gr. I), Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Turf (gr. IT), and the Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I). Note the Post time for the Classic will be at 6:45 p.m. ET. The event concludes with The Damascus Stakes and Oak Tree Derby (gr. II).

  • Race 4 - $1 million Grey Goose Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf @ 4:15 p.m.
  • Race 5 - $2 million Bessemer Trust Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) @ 4:55 p.m.
  • Race 6 - $2 million Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (gr. I) @ 5:35 p.m.
  • Race 7 - $2 million Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic (gr. I) @ 6:15 p.m.
  • Race 8 - Las Palmas Handicap (gr. II) @ 6:55 p.m.
  • Race 9 - Santa Anita Race Allowance @ 7:30 p.m.
  • Race 10 - Santa Anita Race Allowance @ 8:05 p.m.

  • Race 5 - $2 million Bessemer Trust Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) @ 3:55 p.m.
