Keeneland had the pleasure of Curlin galloping over the main Polytrack surface on Monday.

The 2007 Horse of the Year and Dubai World Cup winner arrived around noon on Sunday after spending several days in quarantine in New York after his long flight from Dubai.

"I just wanted to let him out today," said trainer Steve Asmussen. "We let him stretch his legs, let him know he's still a horse. I wanted to see how he traveled, how he felt, and he went great."

Trainer Asmussen has not decided when Curlin will race again.   He’s had a workout at Keeneland, and is expected to have another at Churchill Downs a week or so before the Kentucky Derby on May 3.

"It'll depend on how I think he's doing," he said. "He'll train here for a little while, and then I'll decide if or when he breezes."
